DOS will install and run on a modern PC without any problem, so long as the BIOS presents the interfaces it expects. The above poster isn't quite correct about the ability of DOS to run on modern PCs. It can't allocate your 4gb of RAM (or even your 2gb of ram or your 8gb of ram, etc.) I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. It doesn't know what a SATA connection is.

It's pretty ridiculous to think you can take a 30 year old OS and put on an SSD. I've done this for games that dosbox doesn't run properly.īut there is no way to install DOS on a modern machine directly.
